In order to subscribe to the PADI Enriched Air Diver Course you need to be a certified PADI Open Water Diver and have reached the aged of 12 years.

During the PADI Enriched Air Diver Course you will learn why diving with air that has higher oxygen and lower nitrogen content gives you more bottom time, along with enriched air equipment considerations. You will discuss with your instructor how to manage oxygen exposure. Together with your instructor, you will practice to analyze oxygen content in your tank. And you will also learn how to set your diving computer for diving with enriched air or nitrox, as lots of divers call it.

You also have the option of completing two open water dives with enriched air.

Enriched air possesses less nitrogen and a larger percentage of oxygen. Within the PADI Enriched Air Diver Course, you will study about the advantages of diving with enriched air. You will not only learn how to plan and execute a dive with enriched air, you will also learn how to determine maximum depths for enriched air blends.

Your body is less exposed to the effects of nitrogen. Since any enriched air mixture has less nitrogen than the usual air mixture, you absorb fewer molecules of this element while diving.
