PADI Digital Underwater Photographer course duration: 1 day

While we are located on the Red Sea, we are surrounded by tropical water with an abundance of marine life. Easy diving conditions and a lot of dive sites in close proximity, make it an ideal environment for underwater photography training. And with the rise of digital cameras, it became obvious that you also want to try them out underwater. With the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Course, you will get familiarized with how to use your camera underwater.

PADI Open Water Divers at least 10 years old are eligible to take the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Course.

During this course, you will get the knowledge development and you will go on two open water dives, which will be conducted in one day.

What will you learn?

We will teach you how to choose the right digital camera and underwater housing, that will fit your needs. Your instructor will teach you how to understand the proper camera settings to shoot underwater. Also how to use the PADI SEA (Shoot, Examine and Adjust) method, which takes full advantage of digital technology. This method will get you to make great shots quickly. Not only you will learn how to take good photos but also how to edit them and share them with others by mail or printing. Also how to store them efficiently on your computer or other devices. Also, you will learn the three primary principles for good underwater photos.

You will also learn the ins and outs of using a flash, the rules of composition, and the difference between a snapshot and a photo. Your instructor will teach you when to use a red filter.

As important as all the points mentioned above, a good buoyancy is needed to take that great picture. You will learn how to maintain your buoyancy and how to interact with the underwater environment.

During your two open water dives, it is time to put what you learned into practice and shoot around.

Because underwater photography is also popular with snorkelers, there is an option for avid snorkelers to complete this course.
