Diver Propulsion Vehicles, or more commonly known as underwater scooters, are a great way to move around larger dive sites. It allows you to see more while using minimal energy and air. But the use of such an underwater scooter demands some knowledge and training. With the PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle Course, you will acknowledge all you need to know in order to conduct a dive using an underwater scooter in a safe way.

If you want to participate in the PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle Course, you need to be at least 12 years old and be at least a PADI Open Water Diver.

This is a one-day course.

In the PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle Course, you will first learn how important it is to choose the right underwater scooter for you. Your PADI Instructor will explain to you how to maintain your Diver Propulsion Vehicle. In order to conduct dives using an underwater scooter, it demands proper dive planning, including the procedures on how to stay with your buddy. This course also includes the learning of the skills needed to handle a Diver Propulsion Vehicle. You will also learn how to descent and ascent in a correct way while using an underwater scooter. Your PADI Instructor will overview all potential problems that may occur while diving with such a scooter and the ways to deal with them and how to solve the problems.

Your PADI Instructor will not only teach you the correct control techniques when diving with an underwater scooter for your safety only but also avoid damaging the fragile marine ecosystem. He will mentor you on how to interact with marine life when diving with a Diver Propulsion Vehicle safely.

Notice that the PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle Course may be credited as an Adventure Dive towards your Advanced Open Water Diver Course.
