As many of you know, accidents happen and yes even during diving. So in order to be more prepared in case an accident occurs, next to the PADI EFR Course, you should consider to take the PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider Course.

Provision of emergency oxygen is the primary first aid for divers suffering from near drowning or decompression illness.

The PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider Course is an entry level course that will teach you how to recognize and treat diving illness requiring CPR and oxygen therapy.

Although intended for divers, the PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider Course has no prerequisites and doesn’t require any dives. No previous CPR / First Aid experience is required, but it is an advantage.

This course will take 1 day.

The PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider Course is intended to teach emergency oxygen administration. It covers equipment and procedures for administrating oxygen as an emergency procedure. Equipment selection and use for decompression illness emergencies are detailed with practical components to train as well rounded rescuer.

During this course you will learn to recognize and evaluate an emergency and a victim. Your instructor will teach you how to activate or alert the emergency medical services and you will practice how to administrate oxygen to a breathing or non-breathing person. You will also be able to practice how to assemble and disassemble emergency oxygen equipment. Your instructor will teach you how to deploy a non-rebreather mask and a demand inhalator valve on a breathing diver. You will learn how to use a pocket mask o a non-breathing diver.

We will have emergency oxygen units available to use for training. You will also need to have a disposable non-rebreather mask to use during practice sessions, but if you don’t find, we can help in providing one.

The PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider Course is considered to be one of the most rewarding courses. Knowing how and when to use emergency oxygen is a great skill to have and means you are ready to help others should the need arise.
